About time I put a Belgian Zappa-tribute band in the limelight. They are Whatchamacallit, and they will be playing the Boogie Woogie cafe in Geraardsbergen next November 26. Must admit I’ve never heard them live but judging from these sample mp3’s they be drinkin’ the magic poshum!

Oh I can just picture the scenery:
(it’s been almost an hour. Barry and Dr Sharl are cruising the badlands of West-Flanders on Dr Sharl’s scooter – Geraardsbergen bound. The Doctor is driving, Barry’s in the back, trying not to get scooter-sick.)
– Barry (slightly nauseous): so we almost there Dr Sharl?
– Dr Sharl: sure thing, Barry! Why do you ask?
– Barry: well I’m a bit nauseous Sharl… where we at then?
– Dr Sharl: Menen! Almost there!
– Barry: oh bugger me…
