At first I was going to comment how awesome it was that we weren’t going to have to deal with the shitty family filler tracks. And then I saw that only 5 of the songs were performed by Frank.

i like there songs ahmeth nice voice nice music by joe so all together not bad ………….

  3. James Sharp says:

What about us poor souls who are stuck with dial-up and no iTunes access? It’s discrimination I tells ya!

Well, no one’s making you buy all or any of it, so…

  5. james very dull says:

well tuff living in mohave dessert 🙂

Quite frankly, there’s quite a bit of zappa recycling going on here (and that’s just from reading the details on the zappa dot com site). You’d think they’d honor their father and husband by releasing something no one has actually heard before. But a track by Joe Travers? What has zappa.com become? Travers.com? As usual, the zft can be seen diluting the fz legacy for their own strange purposes. Exactly what that purpose might be is beyond me, quite frankly, Barry.

  7. A F Harrold says:

That said… the Gorgeous Inca solo is very nice and quiet, and the Trouble Every Day with the 13 section for the solo is quite tasty too, and I guess it’s nice to be able to have an official America The Beautiful at last…

But the recycling does seem a bit… well…
…especially when, as far as I can see, you can quite happily release just a couple of special tunes (happy birthday, here’s a little something) through itunes without anyone complaining ‘but it’s only 15 minutes long and I paid for a whole CD’…

Does anyone know where these covers (other than Joe’s) come from? Are they specially done for this package – who are these people singing – who plays on them (other than DZ on Dirty Love guitar no information is given) – when were they recorded? And is this the ZFT saying ‘we approve of cover versions’?

Questions, questions, questions flooding into the mind of the young consumer…

  8. tim carney says:

who needs it? i’m still wailing & gnashing my teeth over lumpy money delay!

The Mighty Wiki will probably answer your questions…

  10. peter says:

And they think Wild Man Fischer is an embarrassment?

  11. A F Harrold says:

You’re right Tim – Lumpy Money delay is a nagging sore, of course – but then again, I’m still waiting for Dance Me This… (not to mention Roxy…)

  12. Hugh says:

Even with the Joe Travers tracks, I’m still tempted. I was at the show from the “America the Beautiful” track. Yet I missed this last song (& last show ever in America) of the show, because my ride was concerned about traffic (yes you heard right). I still hold a grudge to this day!:(

  13. Hugh says:

I’m such a dork! Of course, just download the song I want, (I thought ZFT wouldn’t release on iTunes because of extreme compression rates?)I still think in terms of Cds/Albums.
So I have. And this is what I missed that night in New York (if you’ll humor me? – like you have a choice). America the Beautiful has some nice harmonizing with Ike & Bobby then you get a tasty little solo from Frank. Frank says the shows over and states we’ll see you in the fall. Never happened. Sad. Wow, I got a little fa-klemped. I’ll be okay. Just talk amongst yourselves . . . I’ll give you a topic . . . the Italian Renaissance was neither Italian or a Renaissance. Discuss!
