I wonder what would have happened if Frank had Howard’s kind of money? BTW I love them both, although early Howard was kind of a weenie(to me anyway). Thanks Barry, good stuff.
BTW, Jamie Kime rules.
Word for the day: putz. example: ‘Howard Stern is and has always been a putz’. Nothing like seeing a semi-middle aged, sexually maladjusted man pummel a teenage girl with life and sex questions…
Made me squirm.

An accurate assessment of this interview.
I give Moon credit for coming off so well considering the rapid-fire questions. Yes, she’s daddy’s little rich girl from Californa but I find her endearing.
Howard was doing some very entertaining radio work in New York back in the day. His transition to television was rough, as seen here. I believe the spot was rushed because Howard spent too much time on his hair and pirate costume before the show. I will give Stern credit for having obvious admiration for Frank. I’m just glad Zappa wasn’t there in person, to be bum rushed through a 3 minute interview.

Yes, she handled it pretty well, considering; she laughed a lot, which is what many younger girls do when they are uncomfortable.

Yes, he was funny when he started, and was sometimes funny thereafter. Although I’m not a Stern fan (obviously), I have to say – having spent many years in the radio business – that the stuff about that biz in ‘Private Parts’ was absolutely spot on. That is *exactly* how stupid and absurd it was. The ‘Pig Vomit’ character is not over drawn at ALL.

Yes, that proves that Howard has taste sometimes (Howard also liked G. Gottfried, who, when he had him on his show, made me almost have a heart attack from laughing so hard – google for that audio, but make sure to pee first!). And Frank obviously liked Howard to some sort of extent. But, you know, there’s a fine line between being honest and open about sex and being a pathetic fool. I think Howard is more the latter, and actually think Frank crossed that line more than once. I LOVE Frank’s work, but think that some of his sexual fear and loathing was just that and nothing more interesting.

Gilbert’s imitation of Andrew “Dice” Clay was indeed some funny shit.
Here’s a question. How did Howard’s old buddy, Stuttering John Menendez land a gig on Jay Leno raising a coffee cup for a paycheck!?
John must have photos of Jay doing something unspeakable. Like Leno enjoying an episode of The David Letterman Show or something.

Yes. Also the whole ‘Give Me Your Kloogie!’ routine.

That’s one for the ages. No idea.
BTW, speaking of ugly radio…no need to kill it here in the ‘States, because it’s almost dead.
