Great stuff. Directed by Elaine Shepherd, who also did the Beefheart doco “The Artist Formerly Known As Captain Beefheart” and (I think) the Late Show Zappa special.
Not big on The Simpsons but I love Futurama. Nice doc :).
Go, Matt, Go!!! I’d like to see him tackle ‘rock’; now that’s it dead, of course.
so where is that Zappa clip (the black and white one) from?
Great to hear about some of Matt’s background. Especially, the influences behind the creation of Bart. I never would have guessed Eddie Haskell from “Leave it to Beaver”.
Groening is my kind of guy. Drawing, Zappa & watching classic sit-coms. Good stuff. Of course, my wasted life watching (researching) old tv shows hasn’t made me rich yet!
I like this alot. I also like the fact that the youtube poster’s monicker is ‘arizonabay’. So three of heroes have been encompassed in one place: FZ, Bill Hicks, and Groening. I have a Ryko poster from when Frank went on the final tour in the sky with the Groening quote. Too bad someone from my past almost completely ruined it. Oh well. Nothing lasts forever, I guess. Great post!
