ZAPPATiKA! is a British-born Frank Zappa tribute band of international musicians who presently live near Amsterdam, Holland, that tour all over Europe playing their own original and very alternative music to live audiences, sometimes performing Frank Zappa tribute shows. Formed in the late 1990s by Keltik minstrel McINNES and bionic Indo-Dutch drummer BATTATUTTI – their intention was to perform Frank Zappa’s music and further develop and further modernize certain concepts and rhythmic and melodic principles contained in Zappa’s enormous catalogue of compositions as well as their own original compositions.
From United Mutations:
You get Zappa-inspired music, but it comes with beats, rhythms, samples and melodic patterns that one immediately connects to the contemporary dance scene. Imagine spun out guitar solos in a dance-remix version where the samples are taken from FZ’s catalogue. So, again, I have to say “Hmm…Interesting”, only this time I would really like to see it being played by a DJ for a dance audience. I like this. I hadn’t thought this would be my cup of tea, but I really like it.

Mmmmm, great name for a band. Funny names for the bandmembers. Nice to promote Frank’s music: the more the better. But as a leadsinger I think you need a……leadsinger. This is a guitarist who can arrange and is probably the motor of the band. But he’s no singer. Keep up the good work and find yourself a nice vocalist!!
Yeah you are right Robin. A shame this band plays Zappa music. It is the most terrible thing to listen to.
hhmm…dunno about that James….i think they have a good energy and the morer bands promoting Franks’music the better i say !
