New (but NEW) Zappa release?

I’ve stumbled this morning with this CD Universe site.

Look at this:
Threesome No. 1 Pre-Order Now! Available: Tuesday, April 23, 2002 $25.39
Threesome No. 2 Pre-Order Now! Available: Tuesday, April 23, 2002.

Does anyone know what these Threesomes albums are about? One of them says it’s from 1966…
BTW, this company has a pretty good catalog, no? If I’d live in a reasonable country I’d order something from them :-)

…i don’t wanna be dense, but go to the videos list in the same page. there’s a couple of rarities there i have never heard about…The Osmonds sharing a video with Zappa? oooohh…!

It’s me again, sorry…The Threesomes series seems to be a boxset containing the first three Mothers Of Invention records; FREAK OUT! (1966), ABSOLUTELY FREE (1967) and WE’RE ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY (1967). And Numba 2: HOT RATS (1969), WAKA/JAWAKA (1972) and THE GRAND WAZOO (1972).

The Dr is a bit slow today…

I promiss, I’ll quit vodka for breakfast :-)

    Here’s something on the 3-somes:

A quick search at affz drew nothing on the supposed re-releases.
But, “new, limited edition, re-release” sounds like a detergent
commercial. CDnow actually calls them “Ltd Lp Ed”.
To me, this sounds like either a vinyl issue, or a remaster from the vynil masters.
And the entire concept smells of Ryko trying to squeeze every last cent from their catalog investment.

The Idiot Bastard Son has more info on these releases, as I’ve posted a while back. More of the same, or so it seems…
