Ugly Radio

As you may know, us here at Hot Poop never cease to storm our brains. Here’s an idea that popped in my head: a new messageboard, to be called “Ugly Radio”. You tell us what music you think is ugly, and why. Mind you: ugly music can be beautiful, in its own peculiar way…

Everything is beautiful in its own way!

Now let me tell you ’bout Ahab, the Arab, Sheik of the Burnin’ sands.
He had rubies and emeralds just a drippin’ off him, and a ring on every finger of his hand.
He had a big ol’ turban wrapped around his head
    And a sematar by his side;
and every evenin’ – about midnight – he’d jump on his camel named Clyde.
And ride, silently thru the night until he’d get to the Sultan’s tent, where he would secretly meet up with Fatima – of the seven veils (the swingin’est, number-one dancer in the Sultan’s whole Harem…
(You know, the fact that I know these lyrics does my reputation no good.)

Since i’m one of the non-Americans in the group, had to make a little research on the subject, and found out Ray Stevens is wonderful!!! love it to pieces..!
I’ll take the ocassion to say i also like some things from Aerosmith AND Guns and Roses. Am i fired, Barry? Quoting Deb: Everything is beautiful in its own way… :-)

  4. DebK says:

“She had rings on her fingers, bells on her toes and a bone in her nose, ho ho!”

  5. DebK says:

I can’t take credit for the quote, that is Ray Stevens also. And Sharl, if you think reading the lyrics to Ahab the Arab is funny you absolutely have to hear it! You cannot imagine! (Whoooo could imagine?)

  6. Barry says:

Hey I can’t find this Ahab sucker mp3… can anyone help out?

  7. Dr Sharleena says:

Barry, check out the second link in my comment above, under the title “Different recordings”. You’ll get exquisite excerpts :-)

I didn’t realize there were sound bites. How delightful to hear at least bits of these songs again. Cool!
