    Those record business big shots ought to read this: great article at Slate pointing out how much of the crisis in the music biz has been brought about, not by consumer internet downloads, but by executive shortsightedness, hunger for quick money, and a reluctance to invest in talent (as opposed to say, oh, NSync, Britney Spears, etc…)
    The article also refers to a similar situation in the late ’70ies where the music business was in a slump, and how the rec. companies then put the blame on people copying music on cassettes… sound familiar?
