There’s a BitTorrent of Zappa’s band rehearsing on Dec 23 ’87 (without Frank) doing the rounds (mp3 sample track here), but naturally, yours truly finds it impossible to download this thing. If anyone can recommend a good BitTorrent client for Mac OS X (I’m using Tomato Torrent right now), that would be nice.

Azureus is the best client.
Actually, from mailing back and forth with some People Who Know About These Things, it seems that the problem is not client software related as much as it has to do with the fact that my Mac is behind a firewall enabled broadband router. Sigh.
I don’t know much about macs, but there has to be a way to forward the needed ports (usually 6881-6890) to your machine. Routers definately make Bit Torrent a little harder to set up, but once you got everything in place, it’s Download Eureka!
azurea or amphetadesk … I tried tomato but indeed it sucked … still haven’t found the right one
Kook: yeah I need to “communicate” with the router in order to make those ports available. Just installing that thing took me an entire afternoon, so I’m not very anxious to go messing around with it now ;)
Bareuh: I’ve tried Amphetadesk and liked it even less than Tomato. I’ll have a look at azurea which everyone seems to like…
