Not This Time George

On Thursday, January 20, 2005, George W. Bush will be inaugurated as president of the United States — AGAIN. For a nation that prides itself on being the land of the free, these are some interesting factoids to peruse. With that in mind, Mike’s Inauguration Guide might be of interest to those of you who live in the US. Various other calls to action are listed at Velvet Revolution. It is good to see the Bush-Neocon opposition alive and kicking, I must add. From all of us here at KUR: keep up the good work — it will make a difference, and that’s what matters.

I’d like to see a lot of backs turned to the presidential vehicle on the 20th January…

I hesitate to stick my nose (and yellow teeth, garlicky breath, sausage (eh ?), etc ) into others affairs but it does seem electoral reform is desperately needed for there to be any credible democratic process in operation in the US.
(btw Barry, did you really mean to use the word “factoid” ?)

Yes. Went a little overboard with the irony there, I guess :)

Here we go again…”Return of the Son of the Wimp!”

You’ve got THAT right, guac. Thankfully, there is at least some ferment in that area at the moment here in Amnerika.

And rest assured that whole lots of the 48% per cent of us will be dedicated to making sure that Bush has a VERY hard second term. It’s revolting and insulting that he won, but….god punishes people by granting their wishes, sometimes, eh?

Love the haircut, Frank. And the collar and tie. But still got those freaky things going on inside your head eh?
