April Fools or not, trust me when I say we have a nice show lined up: Palace Theater, Los Angeles, 21 july 1984. You will note that, by this time, the band had replaced Ricky Martin with Bobby Martin. As Gilles told me: this one is not complete, but the sound is far from bad…

Great sound, nice tracks….and neatly tagged too ;^)
Thank you for this – a great surprise to “see” Napoleon here. Err.. but sometimes I wonder, what did he really do on stage then, in ’84? Even Advance Romance was sung by Ray White…
Hello, I’m just come on this site and I just wan’t to know if the old “Friday Boots” are available? Excuse me for my poor english I’m a poor french little boy
Please, tell me YES…
YES!
But if you want the truth: no…
Many of these boots are still circulating at the Uncle Beat forum though; so I’d say sign up, and see if you can jump in on a vine (or “chenille” as they’re called in French I believe)
If you want to know more about this venue in general, boots and Let’s Move To Cleveland in particular, check the giglist on this site or check these:

Zappa played The Palace 6 shows from 17-07-1984 till 22-07-1984.
Thanks Barry!
It’s great, especially since I’ve at last gotten broadband connection and therefore able to enjoy this without sitting MANY hours in front of the computer.
Not to be rude or anything but, can we please have anything from the 70ies, perhaps with some violin? The 80ies have been a bit overrepresented lately, no?
Thanks Barry and Gilles!!!! I was at every one of these six shows. I actually met Frank for the first time the next night after the last show. I am truly grateful that you posted this. I’ve been dealing with a shitty cassette version for the past 20 years! Thanks again!

wannabeard: I promise a 70s show for next week.
mario fuente: long time no see! glad you’re back :)
Thanks Barry—you’re too kind. I’m listening to the latest boot right now—is it too much to ask if there are any more boots from Frank’s stint at the Palace? They weren’t the greatest shows, but they mean a lot to me. Can we do something “under the table”?
Well as I’ve mentioned many times before, the Friday Boot Meister is not me (I simply provide space and bandwidth), it’s Gilles. I don’t know if Gilles has any other Palace ’84 recordings, but if that’s what you’re after I’d say: drop the man a note. Rest assured he is a very kind person who doesn’t go around biting people.
