I did – and anyway, it’s really strange, that there was not too much advertising of the event – or was there? I wanted to see Pink Floyd, but gone sleep instead. Is it downloadable from anywhere. By the way, you can watch the whole thing again here, at AOL.
I don’t know about advertising FOR the event, but there sure was a helluva lot of advertising DURING the event! Just another “corporate rock show,” if you ask me. I managed to catch Pink Floyd (the only band I wanted to see), but the commercial break during Gilmour’s solo in “Comfortably Numb” nearly killed me! If I’m not mistaken, the entire on-air time for Floyd was about 20-25 minutes. Damn! Oh well, I have to admit—it was certainly nice to see Roger again.
We watched it on the BBC — no commercial breaks there… I can’t believe they would cut right in the middle of Gilmour’s solo–the horror! My favorites of the evening (though the competition wasn’t really tough):
1. The Who
2. Pink Floyd
3. Paul McCartney
People That Should Have Kept Their Mouth Shut:
1. Josh Stone (brainless bimbo)
2. Beeeeyonnnnsaaaay (ditto)
3. that band with Slash (bunch of has-been wankers)
4. Snoop Dog (zzzzzzzzzzz)
You can listen to the entire Hyde Park concert here BTW.
is someone interested in the performance in mp3 of Pink Floyd?
I enjoyed both joss stone, and snoop dog. Isn’t there a zappa quote on this phenomenon somewhere.
