Well I’ll be. The entire “An Evening With Wild Man Fischer” is available for (mp3) download here, where it is stated that:
This 1968 legendary master piece has yet to see a re-release. Frank Zappa’s widow owns the right and she doesn’t think it does Frank justice as producer and artist. Understandably the family don’t want anything to do with Larry Fischer since he once went berserk at their home nearly injuring their daughter, and thereafter Frank banned him.
Be quick as the download is provided through one of those free file-transfer services…
Thanks for this. I used to have the LP but it got lost at some party somewhere…
Interesting to note that Gail Zappa owns the rights to the album but refuses to re-release it on CD because she thinks it’s ‘a poor example of Frank’s work’. And the Joe’s ****age series is a good example?
I suspect the truth is that she still harbours distaste for Fischer for when he went crazy at FZ’s house – FZ banned Fischer thereafter. Plus of course the album has no commercial potential.
75MB (including covr art) for a double album! Is it worth listening too? Will have to crank up ye olde gramophone, dust down my vinyl amd make us a vine.

I like Joe’s Corsage!!! However Gail has DEFINITIVELY broke our balls!!! I wonder what Frank now on heaven thinks…
