  1. Duncan says:

    Surely Number 2 (#2) rather than H2.

That will be Kenny and Ronnie?

  2. Another Barry says:

Yeah, that looks to me like a # symbol, rather than an H.

I didn’t know Frank did any painting…apparently not too prominently anyway.

  3. Ack, you’re most probably right Duncan. Overlooked that one, doh!

  4. Duncan says:

Should we tell Christies they have got it wrong – and make them reprint the catalogue :)

Zappa was very much a painter/graphic designer before moving to music. Check out his school days painting… those curtains could have been done by Schenkel himself.

Some Zappa’s move from music to graphics. :)

  5. Paul Sempschi says:

The painting looks like Frank’s night at St. Mary’s, love the pink juxtoposed with the green though.
    H2: (ha-chwo) = (ah-choo)

The “William’s Special” one isn’t my cup of wolverines … but that one from 1958 with the opera — oooooooooh! Not often a poor old Galoot like me wants 2 be bourgeois enough 2 do something like hunt these nice folks down & shove 50-75K in their face fer a mere graphic, but – !
