I am almost certain that Frank Zappa had AS or HFA.

Suddenly Aspergers is the trendy thing to have… I read in that thread that someone thinks Richard James/Aphex Twin has it because his music is “weird and so are the interviews” gawd… and Frank too?–but Frank wasn’t a lazy person was he? However the millions of people that conform to the rules and do nothing and live unhappily are “healthy”. Shrinks have one more thing to recommend medication for.
What’s HFA, by the way? Hyper Frank Addiction?
Answer me, oh Lazy Web…
Humane Farming Association, of course.
It was about two years ago, I think, that some one floated the idea that Syd Barrett had AS. Per the theory – AS cooupled with his drug use lead to his early retirement. That idea came from the UK where diagnosing AS from a distance is quite the sport these days.
Supposed AS folks are incapable of understanding absurd humor. Also they have a hard time understanding when a speaker is talking about some one else. I guess this means we can limit this debate to the line, “This is a dog talkin’ now.” from Stink Foot.
To a T.
Before you ask. ;)
Mmm, fun with Imaginary Diseases, from the folks that’ve now classed SHYNESS as a genuine MENTAL ILLNESS – yeesh.
…… if the man were still animate & hearing this “diagnosis” i imagine him asking if he can get some Freedom-Thighs & Lumpy Gravy with that Ass-Burger ………sigh.
My favorite authors, painters, sculptors, composers, etc., were guys that had no choice but to produce their works.
Maybe they were a little autistic or some other such thing.
No matter. I envy them.
