A message from the ZFT Marketing Dept:
gz: Frost is on the Pumpkins
And you know what that means. Maybe even sooner than 10 questions from Jayp.

OK. OK. But what is this supposed to mean? Why can’t Mrs Zappa say anything in a straightforward manner? Why shroud it in mystery and discombobulated language? Forget conceptual continuity – circumlocution continuity rules! DUH!
‘coz it’s all she HAS!
It’s going to be a 6 CD live compilation of the 1981 band without any of the YAWYI-tracks….
…I wish!
Does it has to do something with “Michael P. Dawson.” What is the secret word?
If it’s anything like the promised Roxy DVD, or the perpetually “Coming Soon” Zappa Radio, I’ll believe it when I actually see it. The track record with the ZFT needs some serious improvement instead of just cryptic messages to it’s fanbase.
I heard it was the Melbourne 76 show…
I’m betting it’s not the video hosted by Ms. Pinky…
But they have a lot going on supporting the ZPZ tours. That’s a monumental undertaking that probably consumes most all their energy.
But the crypticness seems corny. Why not just communicate with the Zappa community in a straightforward way?
I reckon it’s either the Zappa Plays Zappa DVD finally bein’ released in stores or the Roxy DVD.
Roxy DVD ?
Surely you jest…
What do you think: is there a way, somehow to ASK Gail: “Please, PLEASE don’t give us such “infos” like that.” What is it good for? I’ve seen at zappa.com that on the forum there are already some quarrells about it, and the only thing it brings is mere speculation – what is is good for? What the hell is “Frost on the Pumpkins”?…
So: it would be nice to write a letter or a comment or a petition or something – I’m just so sad reading these and knowing that I’ll never know what’s behind it for months! Am I naive?…
The answer’s quite simple, Balint. Don’t go there. Except to order CD’s and DVDs through Barfko-Swill (I am a Zappa Freak, after all, and would rather give the ZFT my money than anybody else), I no longer visit Zappa dot com as regularly as I once did. And until Zappa dot com gets their act together, I don’t see this changing in the foreseeable future (perhaps once they see their web counter start to wind down, somebody will wake up).
Could be a special edition (like Freak Out) of Absolutely Free. Doesn’t Frank say “What a pumpkin” on it?
MOAF maybe, but I’ll believe it when I see/hear it, but then again there’s always ROXY…
A new comment by Gail confirms that it’s not MOAF.
Methinks GZ gets some perverse pleasure seeing the FZ fanbase squirm at her every utterance (I’d really expect more from a woman of her stature and maturity).
We’ll probably never see any ‘MOalbums because the ZFT found out that we like them. Probably a resurrection of the Joe’s series, only MOrehearsal dialogue and perhaps as an extra special bonus, they’ll even throw in a strip from the Roxy film masters in every 10th cd.
The Mystery 4cd DVD boxset… the stage is set, the band, still unseen in the gleaming red lights and darkened stage… Don Pardo, “could this be, the long awaited Roxy release?” Then we see Dweez and ZPZ, “heck no, we thought the fans would dig it more if we performed the Roxy concerts note for note, right Joe?”
“Oh yeah, yeah, those Roxy tapes are slightly grainy, we’re recording this on digital.”
Gail: “we’ve been checking out the forum and what keeps coming up the most from Zappa fans is why arent there more ZPZ releases?”
