King Mandolin Kong Mandolin

Frank Zappa but not as we know it (Jim): the Melonious Quartet plays King Kong. With mandolins. (Superfluous aside: read the title of this post out loud twice, and you get the rhythm of King Kong’s leitmotiv :-)

Brilliant!! After wallowing in all things JT for the past couple days, this is truly a ray of sunshine – mandolins with eyebrows! I have a soft spot for creative mandolin playing, but never dreamt of this.

Oh yes, and I am impressed with your creative title. Very good, indeed.

    Hey, you’re a real music-educator!! (or scientoligist… or what…) I really like that rhythm!

Beautiful! And a great mandolin arrangement to boot. I’d happily buy a CD by these guys if one was available in the U.S. Thanks for making this available, Barry!

Nigey, I had the same thought. They do, in fact, have a cd that contains King Kong. The closest place I could find it is the French amazon.com site. It’s a bit pricey going that route, though.

Thanks for the info, Bob Again. If I could figure out how to send Euros, I’d be listening to it now! :)
