Princeton ’73

Last week an early 70s show was promised — well here it is: Princeton Uni, April 27 ’73 (Pt. One). I bet you can’t hardly wait!

Update: Balint posted a Petit Wazoo show from December 3 ’72, also well worth checking out…

Hi there – I was at this show – Sal was not in the band, but Kin Vassy
    was !!!
    As I recall, they played a nice Dupree’s Paradise…

  2. Balint says:

thanks for posting this, Barry – by the way: it also went to Mario Fuente, from the seventies…

  3. Mario Fuente says:

    …and I thank you profusely.

  4. David Walley says:

I am profoundly grateful for the love and creartity shown by all you guys writing about the music of Uncle Franz, especially Balinit’s notes on the Petite Wazoo from Princeton, 1972. Wonderful notes! (and not too many of them either…). Honestly I really am amazed!

  5. David Walley says:

    ADDENDA….

I mean you guys know so MUCH STUFF!

  6. Balint says:

Thank you thank you – and well… if you feel like correcting our Hungarian Style English: corrections, suggestions welcome!

  7. It’s true though Balint: you’re putting us to shame with the kind of extensive documentation you provide with each boot you put up! Great job, as always! :)

Thanks so much for this boot!

  9. Bert says:

MOI did indeed play Duprees Paradise. But there was no Kin Vassey on stage. Sal Marquez was. According to most sources played Sal Marquez
Trumpet and did Vocals from 24/3/73 till 8/7/73. Kin Vassey was a bandmember from 4/7/73 till 5/1/73). And as this show is from the 27th!

    Other “knowledges”:
    – George Duke sang extensively only on the European tour, 8/73-9/73.
    – Ian Underwood played alto saxophone for the whole duration of this line-up. He played synthesizer before Sal Marquez joined and after he left.
