Some of last week’s comments included “Spifnificent!”, “I hope I don’t wet myself” and “Damn splendid!” — so without further ado: Manchester ’79 Part Two!

I’ve been loving this show, great sound! Posting them so early is a blessing to eager, Zappaphilic insomniacs. May good things happen to you.
Thank you thank you! I’ll be able to listen to it a few hours later only, I just cant wait for that… (A?) Pound for a Brown (On The Bus?) and the others…
By the way, a thing I dont like about this lineup is Warren C’s guitar sound. Sounds dry – or what. That’s why I alwas thought I don’t really like this period. But this show IS GREAT! And hey, here we have Arthur Barrow!!!
Is this sequence correct?
6 Yellow Snow>
7 St. Alfonzo>
8 Father O’Blivion>
9 Nanook
Was it really performed that way, or is it a tag error?
Correct is:
6. Don’t Eat The Yellow Snow / Nanook Rubs It
7. St. Alphonzo’s Pancake Breakfast
8. Father O’Blivion
9. Rollo
(see also boot Saarbrücken 1978)
Rollo was never released this way, but there is an instrumental version on QuAudiophiliac.
Thanks, Alfie.
Great sounding show.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you !!!
Well…that did it. I hope you’re happy.
I wet myself…somewhere in the encore extravaganza.
But it was worth it!
A truly amazing show
And… thank you!!!
Oh my! Super fantastico. I must admit I find most boots to reek far too highly of 3rd gen cassete-ulence to attract my attention for very long. This show sounds fucking great.
I love this band too. Couldn’t disagree more re: Warren’s sound, I think it gives this band mucho punch.
Cheers!
first and formost THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
so much amazing music captured here.
secondly, am i way out of a loop here about
the last track listed as the deathless horsie?
i hear a long jam that ends with five five five.
some kind soul fill me in please.
and finally THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A ‘Confirmed Friday Nut’ after this one…….thanks guys!!!………….
anyone see the simpsons tonite? 9-18?
they visited a stamp museum and the overhead to the room read “the fathers of invention” and in between fathers and of, someone scribbled “and mothers”
could this be the first zappa reference in the show?
Abe is right. In fact you’ll notice that upon downloading, the track is titled Deathlesshorsie-FiveFiveFive. I also noticed that the audio drops at Deathless/555. Was this track from a different recording source or was it not EQ’d like the rest of the offering?? It seems to go from a stereo SBD A++ to an A+ AUD.
I’m not whining…but just curious.
If you go to the FZshows page, you’ll find that the soundboard part of this show ended in the middle of Pound For A Brown, and the rest was filled by an audience recording.
It also showed me that how important the sound quality of an FZ show can be – you cant hear the tiny details, the bass etc. normally, and thus it gives a totally different experience than on th Sut Up album.
