Kansas City ’80

On April 13 1980 Zappa played the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial in Kansas City, MO. And it just so happens to be this (and next) week’s Friday Boot. Happy listening!

yay, david logeman! i’m a vinnie fanatic, but this is nice for variety. logeman is a fantastic drummer. i actually prefer him to wackerman…he grooves like a motherfucker! too bad his tenure was so short. in general, i love the unusual lineups. btw, i’ve asked this before, and i’ll ask it again: are there ANY live recordings out there with ricky lancelotti? anyone? bueller?

I’ve never liked the live performances of Watermelon in Easter Hay, but this one really does it for me.
