They’ve been around for a while, but I can’t stop laughing at these “get a Mac” ads. Brilliant as they may be though, I tend to feel more sympathy for “the PC guy” than “the Mac guy”. The portrayal is such that it has actually irritated some PC users to the point where they’re now holding off a Mac purchase.

Assuming that you are not doing a Dvorak and doing the Mac vs PC thing to increase your hits,,,,
http://macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/9936/
it should be pointed out that Mac ads have always been wonderfully understated, tongue-in-cheek, not to be taken too seriously affairs…
http://www.ellenfeiss.net/movie.php?movie=movies/ellen_feiss.mov
Would FZ have been a Mac guy by now?

Me, looking to increase my hits? Well I ever! :D
Yeah the Ellen Feiss commercial was a hoot as well. Thing is, with the current crop of ads, the viewer is identifying with the character “by proxy” (“I use a PC, therefor I am like the guy acting as the PC”) — in which case, if you use a PC, well Apple tells you you can’t but be a nerdy badly dressed loser. Wonder how the PC-user feels about that. :)
Those commericals are filled with loads of Bull.
They are desigend to make PC’s look like less fun, but which one has more oppurtuinity for games and programs?
Pc to Mac game ratio is literally 100:1.
What I don’t understand is that Macs and PC’s are becoming more and more alike with every year (They can even boot each other)…I don’t understand why they continue to breed this ‘commercial hate’.
Oh yeah, also, Windows has MUCH better music programs than Garageband, which generally sucks ass.
Simple
Macs are for Design…. Pc’s are for Dorks
Anybody who allows a commercial to influence which platform they use is a moron. Those mac ads are a bit annoying (and I agree with Barry that they make you identify with the pc guy more than the mac guy), but I would never give up my mac for a pc – no matter how irritating Apple becomes. I would only give up my mac for a better OS (like BeOS might have been). Who cares about these big corporations?!
