This is one of the three boots I played most, together with the 17/11 with Al DiMeola gusting. I think that this NEED to be released more than the others show… the Halloween show is too concentrated on proper song, a bit like YCDTOSA 5, even if there’s RDNZL there…
But in this show we have all the killer instrumental stuff, from Alien Orifice to Moggio to Baltimore, Envelopes and Drowning Witch!!! I think almost Dweezil knows that this is really HOT. Plus we have all the guests…
Let’s hope for the best!
(but “clowns on velvet” and “sinister footwear” from The Ritz also need to see the light…)
Sterbus – we seem to have a very similar taste! :-) Though the ’82 band is quite close to the (=the same, as the ) ’81 band, there are some differences. The sitar-like Baltimore and Zoot Allures – and it’s never enought of Moggio! And yes, yes: a live version of Clowz On Velvet is a gem! Okay, might even be with Al Di Meola…
Great show, this one! A real gem! Thanx a million Burkhard.
I was there. One of my fave FZ shows.
In the audience, Scott? or playing the bass?
In the audience. If I even TRIED to play the bass, Frank would come back to life and punch me in my fuckin’ head.
Absolutely no argument with you there…
Or here…
Balint, just imagine the sort of release it would be if we at KUR had our way for one brief instant in the UMRK?
I was @ the Ritz show. Would love to hear Al Di Meola on “Clownz on Velvet” again. That also was a killer show. And don’t forget the drum roadie singing the Christopher Cross song, “Ride Like the Wind”!
