Save Internet Radio!

America’s fledgling Internet radio industry could be effectively killed on May 21st if the Librarian of Congress accepts the recommendations of its recent Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel (“CARP”) concerning Internet radio royalty rates and sets impossibly-complex recordkeeping requirements.
You can write against this to your representatives (in the States) or as an international listener from this site.

I have done so already and received an ambiguously worded reply from Senator Luger. Oh well, at least my viewpoint is recorded for what it is worth.

Hey, at least he has replied to you! In the place where i live, first you don’t know who your representatives are; if you get to know, probably they won’t be there by the time the e-mail arrives, and then if the e-mail really get there, they guy will shit on your petition without even read it !
…but I’ll make a try there as an “international listener” anyway…

I did not mean to say that writing was a bad idea. Possibly it will make a difference, if the politicians in question are not being paid off by special interests. And if we make a big enough stink! So get in their everybody, this is not right! Freedom of expression!

For some reason, I don’t feel petitions like these are going to make a big difference… will be interesting to follow this up.
