Hey, I’ll get back with you in July about this. But, I can say in the essay America vs. America, that I disagree vehemently wit the phrase “light hearted fifties”. The fifties were surpassed in paranoia and fear only by the early sixties. FZ reflected this attitude to the nth degree. The fifties were not Happy Days. In the later sixties and seventies hippies just wanted to block it all out, (tune in turn on drop out)but FZ never lost his edge.
